Our Pre-Prep is open to girls aged 3 to 6 and includes four year groups.
At this early stage, we will follow the Cambridge Early Years curriculum which is a holistic programme focusing on the whole child and connects their development with the world and people around them. It is built around four key areas of early childhood development:
It develops knowledge, understanding and skills through a spiral approach, by revisiting and engaging with topics and skills in more depth at each stage. It supports a bilingual or multilingual approach for learners with a home language other than English, as well as those with different experiences of English and prepares learners to easily transition into Cambridge Primary which is taught from Year 1 onwards.
In Years 1 and 2 our curriculum is based on the Cambridge Primary Curriculum with elements of the Bedford Future Skills Curriculum integrated throughout. We aim to develop girls who are intellectually curious, confident and articulate, girls who are able to thrive in any setting, understand how to learn and are resilient.
At this stage, girls are introduced to more formal elements of learning, building on the skills and knowledge learned in the Early Years.
We use a thematic and interdisciplinary approach, meaning subjects are often linked through projects and real-world topics that spark imagination and make learning meaningful.
At Bedford School Mohali, a girl's physical, emotional and social wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. We understand that when she feels safe, supported and confident, she can thrive—both in the classroom and beyond.
Girls are encouraged to explore life beyond the classroom. Through a wide range of activities, they discover new interests, build confidence and develop the skills they need for a balanced, healthy and happy life.
