Bedford School Mohali’s Parent Seminar: Highlights from Jalandhar and Ludhiana Sessions

Bedford School Mohali organised a seminar for parents’ interaction in Jalandhar on 24 January 2026 at Radisson BMC Chowk, followed by a second session in Ludhiana on 25 January 2026 at Radisson Blu, MBD Road.

The seminars were led by our Founding Principal, Ms Naomi Atkins and the Senior Faculty, comprising Ms Vineet Gill (Pre-Prep and Prep Coordinator) and Ms Sapinder Kaur (Upper School Coordinator, Head of pastoral care and DSL). The leadership team helped attendees understand Bedford School Mohali’s approach to strengthening girls’ education in India. Our upcoming Open House was also mentioned, aiming to provide first-hand experience of our 14-acre, first British International Boarding and Day Boarding school for girls in India.

What parents experienced during the parent interaction sessions

Parents experienced during the Parent Seminar

Introduction to Bedford School Mohali

The Parent interaction session started with a short introduction about Bedford School Mohali, which is India’s first British international boarding and day school for girls. Parents were given a clear understanding of the school’s academic pathway, including the globally recognised Cambridge curriculum (IGCSE and International A Level), designed to prepare pupils for top universities worldwide while allowing flexibility for future choices.

The introduction also highlighted our strong focus on pastoral care, with dedicated housemistresses, mentors and counsellors supporting every pupil’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and personal growth. Equal emphasis was placed on safety standards, covering secure campus access, supervised boarding, and welfare protocols for pupils that reassure parents at every step.

To offer a practical sense of life at the school, campus and faculty videos were shared, showcasing modern learning spaces, boarding facilities, and a wide range of 20+ sports and physical activities that encourage fitness, teamwork, and leadership. Together, these visuals helped parents experience the school’s learning environment, daily routines, and values beyond the classroom.

Bedford School UK Legacy and Cambridge Curriculum

Bedford School UK

The attendees learned about the 470+ year legacy of Bedford School UK, the origin of our core values (Kindness, Endeavour, Curiosity, Integrity, and Responsibility) for shaping modern education for girls in India.

The session explained the Cambridge curriculum we offer, including IGCSE and IAL, which focuses on developing academic skills and long-term learning outcomes for distinguished career prospects of our pupils

Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Systems

The attendees also learned about the pastoral care at Bedford School Mohali. We shared highlights of our wellbeing support systems, mentoring structures, and safeguarding systems, ensuring students feel secure, supported, and well-guided throughout their school life.

The leadership team

Attendees of the parent interaction sessions in Jalandhar and Ludhiana got to engage directly with the leaders responsible for academics, student wellbeing, and school operations at Bedford School Mohali.

The sessions were led by:

  • Ms Naomi Atkins, the Founding Principal
  • Ms Vineet Gill, Pre-Prep and Prep Coordinator
  • Ms Sapinder Kaur, Upper School Coordinator, Head of pastoral care and DSL
  • Mr Janmeet, the Marketing Head

The team also catered to pupil life stage-specific questions, from early years through to senior school.

The conversations that shaped the room

After the presentation, a tea and snack break was organised, giving parents a relaxed moment to reflect and speak one-to-one with the Senior faculty members. This time was smoothly utilised to discuss concerns, compare notes, and clarify personal questions before the larger Q&A began.

The Q&A session that followed was the heart of the parent seminar. Most frequent questions we got were about the boarding routines, supervision framework, weekend structure, meals and rooming.

It was an eventful session that went beyond our expectations for an enriching exchange of thoughts.

A strong interest in boarding and the campus experience

We were delighted to notice people’s attention toward our boarding school program. Being the first British International girls’ day and boarding school in India, it is one of our primary goals to provide the best boarding environment to our pupils.

In the sessions, we explained how the daily operations of a girls’ boarding school look, through:

  • the organised schedules
  • monitored school schedules
  • designated areas for rest and study
  • communal living standards

We understand what most of the Indian families typically look for in a Boarding school for girls in India. They seek global education standards with a culture that understands Indian family expectations. Parents repeatedly returned to the same priority, independence with safety and reassurance.

Many parents registered for the Open House during the sessions, showing clear intent to visit the campus and evaluate the boarding environment in person.

Bedford School Mohali

We are proud to be India’s first British international all-girls’ boarding and day boarding school, which focuses on developing young women into self-assured and competent individuals. The British international single-sex school model enables pupils to develop their leadership skills while establishing their own identity.

Our learning environment eliminates background noise, which enables girls to participate in activities while they take safe risks and develop their personal identity.

Our academic program follows the IGCSE curriculum together with the IAL pathway. The program develops subject expertise together with critical thinking abilities and writing skills, and prepares pupils for their future studies, which start from primary school and continue until senior school.

Our pastoral system offers continuous support throughout each day to help students maintain their well-being. The system provides safeguarding services together with mentoring and counselling access, and all types of support.

Strong pastoral care services hold critical importance at a girls’ boarding school because students require secure spaces which help them feel understood while they receive assistance from their peers and adult staff members.

At Bedford School Mohali, that care is reinforced by the boarding environment itself:

  • Pupils live in spacious rooms with study desks, storage, and controlled heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), so comfort and focus stay steady through the term.
  • Daily life is designed to feel structured but warm, with shared dining areas and freshly prepared meals, including Indian and international options and a complete English breakfast, served in supervised spaces with strong attention to hygiene and routine.
  • With house parents and residential staff on-site, plus secure entry, 24/7 supervision, and regular wellness check-ins, pupils get the kind of calm, round-the-clock support that makes boarding feel less like “staying away” and more like settling in.

Closing Note

Our parent interaction session in Jalandhar and Ludhiana confirmed our fundamental belief at Bedford School Mohali, that parents need well-guided information to make optimal decisions about the school. The sessions conducted in Jalandhar and Ludhiana catered to the real answers parents long to know. In addition, we presented how our Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, IAL pathway, strong pastoral care, boarding systems and much more work together to provide a nourishing environment for girls.

We encourage parents who seek a trusted British international all-girls school for their daughter to visit our campus in Sector 84, Mohali, Punjab.

For parents who missed the seminars, stay tuned for our upcoming sessions.
